The Five College Linux User Group began in the fall of 2000. It is a derivative of the Hampshire College Linux User Group which was initiated in the fall of 1999. The FCLUG supports and encourages software including GNU/Linux, the BSD's and other Unix operating systems and projects on any platform. Anyone in the community is welcome to join.

Sunday, October 20, 2002
The first Demo Day is planned for Thursday, October 24th, 2002 at Hampshire College Library, from after lunch until whenever people want to go home. Everyone is welcome, bring friends, we will be showing off all our cool computers and enticing people into using Linux. We will have Debian, Red Hat, and Knoppix CDs for distribution, as well as a signup for the mailing list.

First Meeting! Come to Hampshire College, ASH 221, also known as the Clubhouse, at 8pm on Thursday, September 19. We will be meeting all the new members, discussing the Demo Day, InstallFest, and eating free food. A map from grep - ASH is number 10

We also have an number of events planned for later in the semester, including a plethora of workshops, and even a paintball game to celebrate our holy wars (emacs vs. vi anyone? pine or mutt? Red Hat or Debian? Put on your camo and goggles and join us!)
